The aim of this research is to explain the application of geographic information systems in identifying and selecting fire support weapon's position. Type of research is practical and it has been done with descriptive method and mixed approach. The population used in this study is NEZAJA fire support weapons and statistical population of faculty members of Aja Command & Staff University , artillery Commanders and authorities and Islamic Republic of Iran's army geospatial. information experts totally were 41 people counted by researcher using a coefficient . data collected using valid documents interviews with experts and questionnaire . After conforming the reliability of questionnaires they were sent to statistical population . Validity of questionnaires gathered conformed by reexamination . In this study after interview comments by experts were grouped, data gathered from study resources and documents about the above purpose was sorted, and quantitative analysis were done. For quantitative analysis, according to the method mentioned, a questionnaire with several close questions and an open question was prepared. Close questions were analyzed and measured using Likert scale and interval scale.. At the end, by aggregating the data resulted from interviews, resources and quantitative analysis, final analysis was done.eventually,research hypotheses were accepted.sample population found it suitable to Utilize the geographic information systems for identifying and selecting fire support weapons position. At the end ,researcher offered practical suggestions to use its abilities.

Right place for the deployment of military units is one of the important issues to reduce the loss of human forces and equipments. The aim of this research is to explain the application of geographic information systems in identifying and selecting fire support weapon's position. Type of research is practical and it has been done with descriptive method and mixed approach. The population used in this study is NEZAJA fire support weapons and statistical population of faculty members of Aja Command &Staff University, artillery Commanders and authorities and Islamic Republic of Iran's army geospatial. Were totally 41 pesons. Data collected using valid documents interviews with experts and questionnaire. In this study after conducting interview with experts and gathering information from study resources and documents about the above purpose all data were sorted and quantitative analysis were done. For quantitative analysis, according to the method mentioned, a questionnaire with several close questions and an open question was prepared The following hypothesis has been accepted on the basis of the results and analyze it, 78% of the sample population using geographical information systems GIS, MGIS and GlobalMapper have positions for the identification and selection of the war considered appropriate fire support weapons and have confirmed it. At the end, researcher offered practical suggestions to use its abilities.
