The purpose of this study is to determine the role of intellectual capital on performance in knowledge-based defense organizations. The conceptual model and hypotheses of this research are presented based on a review of the theoretical literature and research background, and the required data were collected through the distribution of a questionnaire among the managers of a defense-based organization. The conceptual model of the research was tested using the structural equation modeling method and based on the collected data. The results showed that the dimensions of intellectual capital, including human capital and relational capital, both directly and indirectly affect the performance of the organization through the mediating role of the innovation variable. Also, structural capital affects the performance of the organization only indirectly and through the effect on organizational innovation.
