The purpose of this paper is to examine the empowerment of faculty
members of a military university in Tehran. In this paper, the components
of leadership style, ability, commitment and authority were tested to
determine the respondents' attitudes and the role of the aforementioned
components on empowering them. Twenty faculty members of a military
university in Tehran were the statistical population of the study. They also
acted as the sample of the study. One sample t-test and Friedman test were
used to prioritize the components. The result of the study show that
leadership style and organizational commitment of the participants are in
good condition, whereas authority component needs to be enhanced. Some
suggestions are presented to improve the empowerment of the participants.
