Managers and commanders typically encounter a multitude of data that often require immediate analysis. Access and processing of massive data, on one hand and transfer of processed knowledge on the other hand are the serious challenges of knowledge management in the armed forces. the main purpose of this study is to investigate the barriers to knowledge sharing at the level of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The present article is applied in terms of purpose and is in the category of descriptive research. In this study, first by studying literature in the library method, knowledge sharing barriers in armed forces have been extracted and then the mean index method has been used to examine them. In order to collect information, a questionnaire was provided to 205 commanders, managers, professors, and personnel working in the field of knowledge management in the Armed Forces. According to the results of statistical analysis with SPSS and Pearson correlation coefficient, the culture variable is the strongest factor and barrier to knowledge sharing in the armed forces. Other variables command and macro-management, organizational barriers, individual barriers, and ICT infrastructure, were next in line for barriers to knowledge sharing in the armed forces. It is suggested to investigate the challenges and barriers to knowledge sharing in the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a separate study and in an integrated platform.
