Information can play a very essential role in military forces, since all operations in military units depend on information, thus collecting information and creating databases continuously is inevitable for the armed forces of any country. Since using computers by different organizations, one of its main applications has been the storage of various types of data and information within the enterprise and its surroundings. Having different databases in organizations has enabled data mining and the discovery of implicit knowledge and has provided extraction of new knowledge. This article has described the significant position and applications of data mining in the Armed Forces, expressing its wide applications in different fields of military affairs, providing comparison of applying this knowledge in modern armies. Finally, according to the analysis conducted, the results of this research has stressed the understanding and using of data mining for decision-making by military commanders and senior managers in strategic and operational levels.
