Decision making is one of the key issues which commanders have been dealing with. Since it is hard to separate it from management tasks, they can have the same meaning area. There are two important points in decision making at the level of general organization; 1. Most commanders cannot analyze how to decide. 2. They almost consider decision making as a sectional activity not as a process. This study tried to explain the role of managers in decision making and to define the decision making process. The present research used questionnaires, interviews of experts (from unit commanders and different deputies in Khatamol al Anbia air defense base, and documents to provide the best model and methodology for decision making under normal and critical conditions. In the present research, the manner of decision making and choosing the best choice by commanders have been considered as macro independent and dependent variables and the combination of quantitative and qualitative data were used for analysis, providing a suitable paradigm for decision making in military environments for commanders and managers.
