Abstract
The military-defense doctrine is a set of fundamental principles, rules, theories, thoughts nationally accepted and supported and stated by the military-political leaders based on the national security doctrine and military thoughts. Military doctrines are the highest and grandest rules defined in the military structure of a state. This research seeks to investigate the role of military-defense component in the national and international environment and answer this question: “What are the objectives and functions of the military-defense doctrine stated by His Eminence, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces?” Therefore, the statements and writings by His Eminence during the period of 1987 to 2016 have been considered as the statistical population and analyzed in the content analysis method. It is a theoretical-applied research conducted in the descriptive-analytical method. The results of the research show that the power of the armed forces and the self-sufficiency in the defense industries as well as the unique deterrence power of the Islamic Republic of Iran are all originated from the valuable defense doctrine and thoughts of His Eminence, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, which in turn, is rooted in the religious teachings, Ejtihad-based rationality, deep understanding, expansive knowledge and invaluable managerial experience. The main feature of the military-defense component in the doctrine of His Eminence, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces is the deterrent power of the military power of the Armed Forces which as to come along with religious intuition and can defend the oppressed Muslim Countries against the Global hegemonic system and enlighten and inspire the national of the Muslim World.
