Abstract
This study aimed to identify the factors affecting the spread of radical ethnic-religious groups in Iran. The research method is descriptive-exploratory and its statistical population is university professors, employees of prisons organization, employees of information and security systems and official members (arrested and not arrested) of radical ethnic-religious groups. 100 people were selected as a statistical sample based on the purposive sampling method. In order to collect information, library resources, documents, as well as questionnaires (closed and open) were used. Exploratory factor analysis was used to analyze the data. The results showed that ten factors: deprivation, geographical and spatial injustice, unbalanced and heterogeneous national composition, the topographic structure of Iran, incompatibility of religious groups with political borders, dependence on foreign capital, political developments in the region, the influence of foreign powers, Political legitimacy and security threats can affect the spread of radical ethnic-religious groups.
