Investigate military applications of Big Data technology and its role in the management of battlefield

Abstract

In the age of information and communication, exponentially growing and diversified production and exchange of data from various sources, has created the concept of Big Data. In industrialized countries, the investment range about taking advantage of opportunities and resolve technical and management challenges this emerging technology is in progress. Big Data in addition to commercial, social, economic, scientific applications, is also taken into consideration in military applications and national security. In military operations management, real-time and effective use of data and speed up the transfer and processing of data, is sensitive and crucial position. The main objective of this paper is to investigate military applications of technology and its role in the management of Big Data battlefield. For this purpose, introduces the features, applications and tools used in Big Data is necessary. Referring to recent applications of this technology in defense and security organizations, by providing conceptual models, the role of technology in the management of battlefield is studied. The results of this study indicate that the use of Big Data technologies to optimize equipment performance, timely decision making, power steering, and increased throughput and is essential for military superiority in future wars. According to the notification, planning and identification of internal capabilities, support for knowledge-based companies and the need to localize communications infrastructure and data centers to explain the interaction of technology with military applications, including solutions proposed in this paper.
