Syber Electromagnetic Actions to Maintain Military Advantage in Future Operational Environments

Authors
Abstract
At present, the development of information and communication technologies can be used as a weapon in the battlefield, especially technologies associated with civilian cyberspace for which the internet is a gateway. The application of cyberspace will be undeniable for the success of military operations in the near future. Therefore, new army methods will be done as cyber electromagnetic activity (CEMA) to maintain military advantage by integrating and synchronizing of cyberspace, electronic warfare and management of the electromagnetic spectrum. Development of these evolutions will be performed by creative proper military infrastructure, taking advantage of the civil communication networks and using the maximum capacity of the electromagnetic spectrum. It is important that its security threats will also undergo radical changes. This paper introduces CEMA to military forces that give useful information to them in this domain, explaining how to conduct military operations with offensive and defensive approaches. In addition, it introduces a strategic context to take advantage of CEMA for military operations against the enemy, so that they can become familiar with new methods of warfare to defend the ideals and, military and civil goals in our country, and to prevent the implementation of enemy goals. This article demonstrates the importance of CEMA to commanders and military forces to design a new operational setting and how integrated operations using fundamentals of CEMA. This paper can also provide commanders and military forces with a reference to develop innovative approaches to seize, retain and exploit an advantage in all operational field.
